Posted on June 18, 2018

If you live in the North East or you are planning on visiting this summer, there are lots of fun things for you to check out. From music festivals to exciting events for children, there really is something to suit everyone!

Newcastle Events

One event that is set to be popular with gin lovers is the Gin Festival at Wynyard Hall (13th July – 14th July). Over 50 different types of gin will be available for tasting, and there will also be live music, vodka bars, rum bars, representatives from regional distilleries and lots of delicious artisan local food!

Music festivals also return to the region this summer, such as Hardwick Live (18th August – 19th August). This is the biggest live music event in the North East, and it is open to children and teenagers as well as adults. This year the festival has also been extended so that it will last two days! Another popular music event is the South Tyneside Festival (8th July), with Pixie Lott and Aston Merrygold performing this year.

Newcastle will be hosting Pride festival (20th July – 22nd July) this summer. The headline sponsor is NE1 (for the fifth year running), and it is hosted by the city’s large LGBTQ community. Expect to see lots of fabulous floats! There are also a few Pride events that are specifically aimed at young people, including Youth Prom Night with Pride (26th June).

If you like anything magical, you may also want to head to the South Tyneside Festival (30th June). This festival promises to celebrate magic, myths and monsters, so it is likely to be a unique day of fantasy and fun!

If you are planning on moving to Newscastle this summer but you haven’t arranged accommodation yet, why not consider a cutting-edge, contemporary new build? All the apartments available from Property by Nest are close to the city’s transport connections, making it even easier for you to enjoy everything that Newcastle has to offer.
